I am Anthea McIntyre, Conservative MEP for the West Midlands.

I am hugely proud to represent a region of nearly six million people, which includes the core of England's manufacturing industry along with some of its brightest cutting-edge technology. We also happen to have more than our share of beautiful countryside.

As a lifelong Conservative I believe in the freedom of the individual, equality of opportunity and encouragement of enterprise. I share Theresa May's vision of a Britain the works for everyone, regardless of background, where all our people are enabled to reach their full potential.

Through my work as an MEP I campaign against the red tape that harms small businesses. I promote initiatives for re-shoring - bringing back jobs that went abroad - and I campaign for better use of technology in farming to help feed the world.

While I supported the Remain campaign in the referendum, I believe we must now look forward to achieve the best deal possible for Britain as we leave the EU. My remaining time as an MEP will be spent working towards that end and continuing to promote the interests of the West Midlands.
